Pro-democracy peace rally in Washington DC, USA

These protest rallies were held on 20th March 2003 in Dallas and on 17th May 2004 in Washington DC because MLD was informed by State Dept that US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs, Ms Christina Rocca will call on the President Gayyoom the same day in the Maldives. They joined other anti Saddam groups (to avoid a separate permit) who were supporting the US invasion of Iraq. Another rally near Maldivian UN mission is planned this summer. The boy carrying the poster is Sodiq's son Isthafaan. The pictures are authentic. Some of the pictures with Maldivian faces (students from US & Canada) are also available, but they are keeping them to avoid any backlash to their families at home.
